Configuration

Once AppSec Assistant is installed, configuring it to work with your OpenAI API key is simple. Follow these steps to access the app settings and set up the required fields:

  1. In your Jira Cloud instance, click on 'Apps' in the top navigation menu.
  2. Click the AppSec Assistant link in the sidebar on the left.
  3. In the configuration panel, locate the 'OpenAI API Key' field.
  4. Enter your OpenAI API key. This key allows the app to generate security recommendations.
  5. If you have an organization identifier for OpenAI, enter it in the 'Organization' field.
  6. Click 'Save and Validate' to apply your configuration settings.

Your API key and organization details are now securely stored and used exclusively for generating recommendations within your Jira tickets.

Note: The OpenAI API key is sensitive information. Ensure that you do not share it with unauthorized users or store it in public repositories. For these reasons and more, AppSec Assistant will not even load the saved key to the browser. You will see a either a green or yellow message box above the form telling you if your key is valid and configured or not.
